Timmy's Kerry Packer Memorial blog

Like many people I was distraught at Kerry Packer’s death.  And like other mourners, chiefly amongst them Doug Mulray, I asked why. How could such a great man be cut down in his prime?  What is this curse that those so undeserving, so unselfish, and so community minded are taken from us?

Sadly such injustices are beyond our control.  But what we can control is the great man’s memory.  With this in mind, I hit the streets to share my grief with the people of Sydney and brainstorm ideas for a proper commemoration of Big Kez.  Though few shared my own dream of preserving the big man’s body and displaying it Lenin style, I was certainly inspired by the myriad of ideas thrown my way.  I especially liked the idea of building a new wing of the tax department in his likeness.

But enough from me.  The people have spoken.  So please bow your head in Kerry's memory... and listen. (Flash required.)

Big Blogger Bonus: Logan Greg vs Victoria Police

Loathe as I am to mention something so lightweight, especially on so important an occasion as a Packer Memorial Blog, I thought I might share one more titbit with you.  I toyed with the idea of giving this story to TV Week or NW but I know Kerry would see such charity to the PBL owned mags as lily livered.  So here goes…

I was down at Vesna's 29th birthday party in Melbourne on Saturday night. Here's a pic of a few of us whooping it up in a limo on the way.

Anyway, on Vesna's big night, there was what police refer to as an incident.  But no matter how the police might refer to it, the truth is Logan Greg got into an ugly fracas at about 1am outside the party venue, Mozees.

Luckily, I was quick with the camera to catch the action as the police wrestled the wild-eyed twin into what Victorians refer to as a ‘Divvy-Van’. Here's Greg after he was subdued by a member of the constabulary:

And then struggling as he's led away:

He has been charged with affray, and will appear in the county court on the 27th.

Greg needed no assistance to post bail.
