Nicole Kidman has announced she intends to help husband Keith Urban overcome his addiction to alcohol after he was admitted to a rehab centre. It's understood that the actress has promised to do anything to help Urban recover short of starring in a Stanley Kubrick-style film with him.

Nicole is committed to urban regeneration

The country star's decline has come as a big surprise to Kidman. "The signs were there, but I didn't see them," she said. "When he said his hobbies were dancing and lines, I thought he meant that bootscooting thing."

"This is going to be tough on Nicole, obviously," Nicole's sister Antonia said. "But she's been through so much already in this relationship – have you ever listened to his albums?"

"I know she'd rather accompany him to rehab than accompany him on tour. And Nic well knows that every cloud has a silver lining. In this case, she doesn't have to go to the Country Music Awards."
