What better way could John Howard have marked the anniversary of the Cronulla riots than by announcing Aussie
values tests for those becoming Australian citizens?
Some might say he didn't go far enough.
And I'd be one of them.
Why just test new citizens? Why
not existing citizens as well?
I decided to hit the sand of Sydney's
Bronte beach to begin the task and set what I hope will be a national
trend - quizzing each other to see if we're real Aussies.
You don't need to go out of your
way, just next time you're in the queue at Coles ask the person next
to you ‘On what date did the ANZACs land at Gallipoli?'
Let's make it so the politically
correct organizers of next year's Big Day Out ban our
new random cross-examinations instead of Aussie flags.
