Howard hopes to one day equal the grassroots support of a skateboarding dog
John Howard has released his first video on YouTube, providing much-needed diversion for the bored office workers whose votes he needs to win this year's election. The Prime Minister is delighted that he has managed to produce something that has received a better response from low-income workers than WorkChoices.

"The video had some novelty value," said administrative assistant and office YouTube addict Mike Withers, who is known on the site as "madman_m1ke". "But if he really wants us to forward it to all of our friends, he needs to spice things up a little," he advised. "Maybe he could make his announcements while playing the Tetris theme on the piano, or cut in a bit of footage of humping animals."

Withers has promised that if Howard makes his next policy announcement while doing tricks on a skateboard, he has his support. "Not just my vote in the election," he said. "But more importantly for my favourite videos list.

The Liberal Party President, Brian Loughnane, says he has been encouraging the Prime Minister to embrace new technology to try and win a new audience. "I wanted him to own this new medium with a fresh, funky clip that showed punters he's still with it after all these years," he said. "But he wanted to record a detailed, technical defence of his climate change record. Oh well, maybe next time we'll put some hip-hop music in the intro or something."

Howard's opponent Kevin Rudd has been faster to embrace the popular video-sharing site, having posted dozens of clips that have attracted tens of thousands of hits. But an insider at YouTube has revealed that nearly all of those hits came from the Labor leader's own computer.

YouTube, which has become a major player in US politics and is currently hosting several online debates between the leading Presidential candidates, was initially eager for its site to become the home of Australian political videos as well. But after viewing Howard's initial effort, the company's management has quietly abandoned the idea.

Nah, you really know you've made it when a bunch of retards take the soundtrack and put it on soumething completely unrelated.

Though, if anyone gets lots of Yoda clips and makes it look like he is talking, instead of Howard...might be worth watching.
